Village Vibe - Feb 26

You legends!

Thanks to the people who contributed to our strategy sessions last week. Split into two groups, they all did fantastic work and provided ahe foundation for the TBA’s long term strategy and its immediate workplan.

Focuses included a lively year-round events calendar, marketing Titirangi as a destination, and of course achievable solutions to parking and transport challenges. The groups identified some ‘quick wins’ that we can do now to make a difference as well as longer term aspirations to work towards.

We’ll be unpacking this in the next little while to identify how we can make a practical and tangible difference to the village, so watch this space.

We could definitely use more support to make it happen so if you’d like to be part of it just reply to this email or come along to next month’s meeting.

The TBA team

Both groups did a great job at our strategy sessions! Pictured is Group 2. With thanks to Anna Tunnell (Liquid Edge Design), Brigid O’Connor (Barfoot & Thompson), Dinesh Dias (Crafty Baker), Kelly Horan (Drain Ranger), Linda Baehr (Fraulein-Baehr), Lindsay Simpson (Isometric), Bevis England (Fringe), Chris Woodward (Green Bay High School), Kate Rotella (Smiles Titirangi), Su Morgan and John Morgan (Titirangi Lights) and to Lopdell House for the venue. Facilited by Zoe Hawkins.

Wanted: social media content creator

Are you someone who can create high quality content for Titirangi Village and help to weave the village businesses and community organisations together so that Titirangi as a destination is showcased? We’d love to hear from you. Like all our work, this is a volunteer position but it doesn’t have to be time consuming - an hour a week would go a long way.

The Crafty Baker art space

The Crafty Baker has put out a call for artists keen to showcase their work on its walls. Send some samples and a few words about yourself and what inspires your art to art@craftybaker.co.nz

Soul Batter furniture revamp

Looking for somewhere to sit down for a casual dinner? Soul Batter has new furniture and it’s looking great! Eat in or grab your perfectly cooked fish and head home or take it down to one of the local beaches for a picnic dinner.

The great Tanekaha Road lockdown - and other roading news

To fix damage from the 2023 Anniversary Day storms, Tanekaha Road will have full daytime road closures for ten weeks (with a half hour window at lunchtime for vehicles to get in and out). Meanwhile AT has indicated that works to fix last year’s slip on Wood Bay Road are about to start, and it’s great to see Woodlands Park Road looking close to completion. Work continues on Huia Road. We will be pleased when it is all done. Updates are here.

French Bay Regatta

Congrats to French Bay Yacht Club on another successful annual regatta. It’s always great to see action on the harbour. The club turns 70 this year!

Fringe Magazine

We’re lucky to have a great local magazine covering topical issues, news and views. It never fails to deliver a good read and the magazine is also a big supporter of the TBA. Make sure you pick up your copy next time you are in the village.
