Issue 3 - January 2026

Hello everyone!

Now that we have an Association the next steps are to create a plan.

We want to do the best we can for the village, focus our efforts where they matter most, and so we need to know what’s on your minds as owners, operators or staff of local businesses.

Two one-hour sessions will be held, one in the morning and one in the evening. These are facilitated by one of our volunteer members and will focus on finding out:

  • What’s on your mind - thinking about business in Titirangi Village, what are your concerns? Is it parking, getting staff, something else?

  • Blue sky thinking for the village - in the ideal world where do we want to get to - what does the best village possible look like?

  • How can the TBA help to achieve this? We’d love to know your ideas

  • What are the constraints and limitations? How can we move forwards?

Each session will take around an hour and needs ten people to make it happen. No need to prepare, just come along with your ideas and an hour of spare time.

After the sessions, a written survey will be sent out to collect further information. Then, we will draft the plan and take feedback.

Can you make it? Check the times and RSVP here

Next meeting: 8am Tuesday 3 February at Lopdell House

Meetings are held at 8am on the first Tuesday of each month in the Level 1 Seminar Room at Lopdell House. Grab a coffee from one of the village cafes and join in. They take around an hour.

IRD number sorted and not for profit status confirmed - but bank account delays membership processing

Getting all our ducks in a row takes a bit of time and we’re sorting out the last of the steps to finalise the bank account. As soon as we do, we’ll send all new members an invoice. It won’t be long and thanks to Brigid for her perseverance!

Notice of Annual General Meeting

The first Annual General Meeting of the Titirangi Business Association will be held at 8am Tuesday 3 March 2026 at Level 1, Lopdell House. An agenda will be circulated closer to the time.

Welcome Square!

It’s amazing to see a new business in the village, a big welcome to the team at Square.

Building refurb looking great

It’s also great to see the scaffolding coming down from the building on the corner of Rangiwai - and it’s looking seriously good. We can’t wait to learn more about the tenants and plans for the building.

Carparking confusion

Following questions about who owns the carparks by Hardware Cafe and Hells Pizza, signage has been installed. To cut a long story short - please don’t use these carparks unless you have permission to. It’s frustrating to have to walk a bit further, but they are owned by the businesses for their use.

Chicken update

The team at the Waitākere Ranges Local Board have updated on the local chicken situation that started before Christmas. 51 chickens were caught and removed from the area around the hall and library. All of the hens and most of the roosters were rehomed. In a Facebook post they said, “We do have a plan to keep their numbers in check, but as some of you may have noticed, the flock is still growing. So as tempting as it is to treat them, please don’t feed the chickens. Leftovers attract rats, and nobody wants to invite those uninvited guests to the party.”

Twilight in the Village

This was a really good evening with everyone coming together to enjoy the village, great company, some shopping, food, music, and of course the famous Christmas lights. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
