Issue 2 - November 2025
Hello everyone!
Twilight in the Village is next Friday night - it’s awesome to see so many village businesses taking part, it’s a great chance to visit Lopdell House, and of course the ceremonial turning on of the village lights is always a fabulous way to welcome in the holiday season.
Brigid is working to get our first bank account set up - it’s a detailed process with lots of boxes to tick for a new organisation - and as soon as that is finished, we’ll formalise all the membership applications we have received! Thank you - and keep them coming.
We do need local businesses to become members - please jump on titirangivillage.nz and click ‘join’ and receive your free directory listing.

Thank you CNZ Itera
Our new website was built and ready to go but dowp! We had some teething issues with domain settings. Spark from CNZ Itera was only too happy to help when we approached him. If you need any IT issue fixed, whether it’s a broken phone, laptop or something else, he’s located in one of the offices above the bakery in the carpark and provides an excellent service. Here are CNZ Itera’s contact details.
Look out for a story about local graphic designer Anna Tunnell, the creative talent behind our new brand, in the next issue of Fringe Magazine!
Website live and membership applications are now open
Help kick start the association by becoming a founding member! Membership is just $100 (incl GST) through to 31 March 2026. Members all receive a free directory listing. Put your application in here.
Twilight in the Village and turning on of the Christmas lights!
Mark your diaries for Twilight in the Village on the evening of Friday 5 December organised by the Lopdel Precinct and local businesses. Check out details here
A huge feature of this event is the turning on of the Christmas lights by Bright Lights little Village plus live music and choirs, a colouring competition, Santa’s Mailbox, Fresh Choice Elves, Titirangi Baptist Church Treasure Hunt and Santa photos.
These lights are privately funded and are a labour of love by Sue Morgan and her team. If you feel like contributing, please drop a donation into this account: Bright Lights Little Village, 38-9018-0737028-00
This is very exciting and we’ll bring you more detail in our next issue which is just before the event!
Watercare Western Project Q&A
We had a good catch up last week with the Watercare team working on the suite of projects known as the Western Water Supply Program. This is a big body of work that's going to be around for a long time once it gets underway.
There are different options on the table and these will impact local people in different ways depending on where you live, work, and spend your time. No decisions have been made yet so NOW is the time to have input.
We are thinking and asking questions about what the impacts might be on the township (and possibly even benefits!) - if you have thoughts please do let Watercare know, or feed them to us to pass on.
Do any of the works associated with the three options intersect with the village?
None of the current options directly impact the village itself. The key consideration will be vehicle movements through and around the area rather than any construction within it.
What does Watercare see as the direct or indirect impacts on the village
At this stage, we don’t have detailed information about the contractors’ daily schedules, including when or where they’ll take their lunch breaks. However, this could actually have a positive effect on local businesses if workers choose to buy food/coffee in the village. We can also look at influencing Auckland Transport around parking management to support the local centre.
What about traffic through the village?
Previous transport assessments have looked at likely vehicle numbers, and once a preferred route option is confirmed, this will be properly evaluated.
Elizabeth Stewart of Watercare says: “We’ll stay in touch as things progress, and I’d really encourage the business association and community to keep sharing feedback; it’s the best way for us to flush out (pun intended) any issues early and work together on solutions.”
