As we approach our first birthday as an official organisation, here is some of the latest news from the village and about our work.

Coffee morning meet up for Titirangi businesses

8am-915am Wednesday 9 September.

Brought to us by the Lopdell Trust, enjoy a complimentary muffin and coffee in Lopdell House and catch up on the projects.

Hear from the local designer behind our brand, and Kim from Tonic Spa on why she joined the association, and more. You can also connect with reps from the Lopdell Trust Board, Titirangi Fringe, the Lopdell Precinct and the Titirangi Christmas lights project. The chairs of both the TBA and Lopdell Trust Board will be there to answer the many questions we know you have!

Get to know the people behind the businesses

Titirangi local Brigid Connor brings plenty of life experience to her role in real estate, from growing up as the eldest of 11 children to a career spanning accounting, corporate marketing and several different industries. Session with Watercare Raw Watermains option finalised

Watercare has “rephased” its plans to replace the Huia Water Treatment Plant, with funding for the major construction components now forecast from 2033 onwards. Planning, consenting and other programme work will continue in the meantime, including the Lower Nihotupu Pump Station upgrade. Watercare will also continue upgrading the existing Huia plant to help maintain the reliability and resilience of Auckland’s water supply.

While major construction remains some years away, traffic management requirements are always on our minds and are already set through the project’s consent conditions. These include restrictions on heavy vehicle movements during school drop-off and pick-up times, as well as limits on weekend movements along the preferred Titirangi Road route. Watercare plans to provide a broader Western Water Supply Programme update later this year, develop a programme timeline for the community, and return with another update in early 2027.

Gardens wanted

The hunt for Titirangi gardens is on!

Titirangi Urban Sanctuary is looking for just a couple more beautiful gardens to add to its Community Garden Tour.The tour will take place Saturday 28th November. This will be an important fundraiser for Titirangi Urban Sanctuary, tickets will go on sale at the end of September. Keen? On at the Library

Titirangi Library has a busy September planned, with activities for children and adults. Regular kids’ programmes include Wednesday Rhymetime and Afterschool Lego Club, and Friday Wriggle and Rhyme. Special events include Father’s Day gift making on 3 September, poi making for Māori Language Week on 16 September, Tiny Art Creations as part of Whānau Day on 19 September, and a Lego Fun Hour on 30 September.

For adults, there’s a Memoir and Life-Writing Circle on 10 September, while researcher Lynley Stone will explore the household experience of wartime and post-war rationing on 29 September at Lopdell House. The programme continues into early October with mosaic making for children on 2 October and a creative writing workshop with author Thalia Henry on 1 October, inspired by her novel Sorry Rock.
